UPDATE: The woman continues to be in denial that her son is gay. Of course he can't be gay, they are good Christians! When will this stupidity end.

Actually, I started finding this humorous, but now I just find it sad. I feel sad for this poor boy who will grow up thinking that he is a boil on the butt of God.

Those Horrible Heteros

I am not posting this to make light of what happened. This is terrible.

A Girl Scout leader and her husband were arrested after an emaciated, terrified and nearly naked 17-year-old showed up at a gym with a chain locked to his ankle, saying he had just fled his captors, authorities said Tuesday.

Now, if this were a gay couple, the Reactionary Right would be yelling and screaming that this is all the work of those EVIL GAYS! But I would be willing to bet that this doesn't even "blip" on their radar.

The theologian in may says that this is a sign that we are a fallen people, ALL of us. This is a sign that even though we want to think that humanity is innately good, there are still people out there who will do evil. I would even give these people the benefit of a doubt that in their minds, what they were doing makes sense. But what they were doing has everything to do with being a fallen people and nothing to do with either a Heterosexual Agenda or the Homosexual Agenda.

But I am probably preaching to the choir on this one.

An Interesting Social Experiment

I read this over at Pam's House Blend.

What if, instead of referring to someone's "husband" or "wife," we referred to their "boyfriend," "girlfriend," "companion," or "partner?" And when we get corrected, we just say, "Oh, I'm sorry but my beliefs do not recognize your marriage"?

Can we make people stop for just a moment and contemplate another possibility, they may not be gay, but they may be next. When we place rights up for public vote, what is to stop the trend. I generally don't like using "slippery slope" arguments, but I think this one is valid.

It is kind of like the "White Privilege" or "Male Privilege" in that when you are the privileged group, it is hard to think of what it may feel like to be part of the other group. I got an understanding of White Privilege the first time I saw a black jock-strap. It never dawned on me that yes, people of color wear these things too! Maybe they don't want the straps to show through. And I really began to understand "Hetero Privilege" when I started to go out in public with Nick. It was interesting to go from being a White, Male, Protestant, Straight to GAY! This one title effectively wiped out the others.

I think it is worth a try. Not a big loud protest, but just a little word. But this one little word can begin a conversation and maybe make some people think. Maybe the next time they have to vote on our rights, they may think of their own rights! I don't care if we get our rights because others are afraid of losing theirs. I would like to think that people are innately good and would want to preserve the rights of all, but we can't count on that, so let's tap into peoples selfish motives!

Heterosexual Lifestyle

Those perverse heterosexuals! We should not let them have children because all they want to do is use them as sex slaves!

I know this is a serious issue and I don't mean to make light of it. But I do want to highlight the absurdity of the arguments used against us. If this were a gay man, the outrage would be extreme to say the least. People do disgusting things. It is not a gay or straight thing. It is a human thing.

Heterosexual Marriage Results in Cruising

The statistics are in! Of cruising occurring in a public rest area, 95% of it is caused by HETEROSEXUAL MARRIAGE! If we want to stop sex at rest areas, WE NEED TO STOP THOSE HETS FROM GETTING MARRIED!

Well, There They Go Again!

Well, good thing I posted the link to the instruction manual "How to Talk to Your Child About the Next G.O.P. Sex Scandal" because the G.O.P. is forcing us to talk about sex to our children, AGAIN!

Wow, I am a gay male and I have never had sex in a public bathroom. But all of these "straight" Republicans, Family Values Voters, are making our public spaces unsafe for our children.

And as a Halloween aside, the thought of Richard Curtis in red stocking and a black sequined top is mighty scary!

The Neighbor

Well we had a second run-in with neighbor.

I guess we have fornicating elephants us here, or so he says. He is also wondering how fornicating long it will take for us to move in. And then, he would not shake hands with me and called me a fornicating phallis head.

So we have been informed that if the behavior continues, we are to call the police. And rest assurred, we will.

What is sad is that they will not let gay people adopt but neanderthals like the one downstairs just have to get horney to bring children into the world.
