Hi all!
I rally haven't been too bloggy lately. I guess I have been distracted.
Things have been happening. I have been dealing with truck problems, church things, work, and Pride month. It has been busy.
Work has been the age old dilemma: I hate working but I love the money. I often want to throw the coffee at the person instead of handing it to them. But I have been restraining myself. There is a twink at work who is a lot of fun to work with. We stand around and rate the guys going through the U-Scan lanes. Actually, the people I work with are nice, a little quirky, but aren't we all?
The truck has been annoying. It has been not wanting to start in the morning. That always makes mornings a thrill. When the truck doesn't work, I get to "enjoy" the mass transit system here. Always way too much fun.
Church has been a combination of good and bad. I love the place and the people. I hate the pay scale! I get stuck working most of my time at SBX and end up feeling like I am shorting the church. I also am not so good a switching gears when I get off of work. I can't come home and just jump into doing church things.
I spoke with the Bishop a couple of weeks ago to see if there is ANYTHING that we can do to move toward being more involved in the church. The big problem is that this cannot be an incremental switch: I can only cut back on SBX hours so much before they will ask if I really want to work there. (Which I don't.) There are some possibilities of doing two-point ministries. Or some other options.
Then there is the possibility of going management at work. This would not be SBX management but management at the store the SBX is in. I have loans that are sitting in forbearance which is nice because I don't have to pay, but not good because the loan keeps getting bigger.
Then there has been discussion of going for a visit in Iowa. Yes, my family lives there, but also laws have changed there! This is all in process right now. Who knows, maybe we will go there and never come back!!!
Pride month has been a bit of a bust. Motorcity in Detroit was way crowded. Michigan Pride in Lansing was a bust. The post-party was nice but small. We will be eating hot dogs and beans for weeks to come.
But, to quote John Cougar Melancamp or whatever his name is, "Life goes on, long after the thrill of living is gone."

It was good to have your update. Best wishes for all good things!
Hope things will go better. Don't worry about "cheating" the church. Let them put their money where their mouth is.
